Fantastic Resource

The longer this recession continues more and more people are having to make tough decisions in their lives and the best way to make any decision is to make an informed one. Although I am familiar with the United Way I never truly realized what a fantastic FREE resource this organization is. By dialing 2-1-1 you can be connected to an actual live human being who will help you find the answers you need for whatever questions you may have. I had a variety of questions ranging from IRS-related items to mortgages. Shauna (the person who I spoke with) was incredibly professional, friendly and extremely patient-especially given the number and range of questions I had for her.

If you or anyone you may know needs to find assistance with utilities, housing, child care, food, mortgage assistance/modifications please direct them to the United Way. The number is easy to remember: 211. The information is free, anonymous, and extremely helpful. If you have had any experience with United Way I’d love to hear from you and know how they helped.
